DMBA 2,2-Bis(hydroxymethyl)butyric acid Uses
DMBA is considered as a new generation of green & environment-friendly chain extender and internal emulsifier for water-based polyurethane; It can be used in the production of aqueous polyurethane adhesives without using organic solvents and offering zero organic residues. It solves the faults of DMPA such as high melting point, slow dissolution, long reaction time, high energy consumption, poor product performance, the need of organic solvents, big solvent residual volume and so on. It also can be used for the manufacturing of water-based epoxy resin and polyester adhesives.

DMBA is mainly used for the chain extender and internal emulsifier of waterborne polyurethane, for multi-purpose performance additives (hydrophilic chain extender) of waterborne products such as waterborne epoxy resin, waterborne polyester, waterborne alcohol acid and waterborne adhesive, and for manufacturing the photosensitive resins, magnetic recording materials and liquid crystal raw materials. While manufacturing the resins by DMBA, it does not need using any organic solvent during the modification process. It is the new generation green environmental protection product.
